Pre K has enjoyed experimenting with different kinds of music and exploring ways that we can move. We have enjoyed many games that help us not only learn about music but shows us how to include everyone, take turns, show respect and make friends.
Kindergarten has been busy working on fun songs for their Moving Up Celebration in May! We've also been experimenting with rhythm components and putting them together to use with instruments. It gets noisy but boy do we have fun! Exploring with different sounds makes us better musicians.
1st and 2nd Grade had an amazing JAZZ concert! Check out some photos in the photo tab to the left. We are now focusing on the artists for our Musical Explorers field trip on May 3. We are learning about country music, Irish music and music from Mali. We've enjoyed review games that will better prepare us for the trip!
3rd & 4th Grade have begun the class recordings for their Recycling classroom concerts. The students have taken items such as coffee cans, hub caps, soda bottles, water bottles, kitchen pots & pans, spoons, etc. to create sounds that will accompany songs or student-created skits. The recordings will be viewed by the other classes to complete an evaluation. I am so proud of the creativeness that has come out of these kids!
5th Grade has begun to work their magic for their upcoming Moving Up Celebration on May 19. We have a few surprises in store that will help these students enjoy their last time hanging out at Bloomingdale Elementary. While some are a little apprehensive about the changes that lie ahead and others are facing them full force, music seems to bring them all together.
